BEAUTY // L'OREAL PARIS CASTING CREME GLOSS

This week I received a pack I was very excited about, some L'Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss. This was courtesy of BzzAgent and I'm totally grateful as my hair was all kinds of colour and needed some oomph. Unboxing the parcel I found a sheet explaining how to use the product safely, including a 48 hour allergy pre-test, also some vouchers for £1 off and of course the product itself wrapped in bright pink tissue paper. Inside the box; colourant, developer creme, precision tip applicator, Shine Enhancing Conditioner with Royal Jelly, professional quality gloves and the instructions.

I was offered a choice of colours, picking Dark Chocolate (323) since I've been considering having my hair darker for ages, bit of a risk for me as I don't get much sun (forever pale sigh). My sister kindly said she would help me dye it, the application was simple and fast, without the smell I usually consider hair dye to have (maybe as there is no ammonia). It only took 20 minutes to wait until it could be rinsed out and then I used my John Frieda shampoo and conditioner when rinsing it out. 

I couldn't quite believe how healthy and soft my hair felt after using this, the Royal Jelly conditioner was clearly something brilliant for my poor drying hair. The colour outcome was a deep chocolate brown, darker than I'd imagined but I am very pleased, it has drawn out the natural tones of my hair with out leaving it a flat and dull colour. I feel it looks very natural and most definitely at a salon standard. There is no doubt, I will be using this product again! My sister got one of my vouchers, ready to get her own pack of L'Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss.

Hair Affair

So I got my hair cut this weekend and decided to get some colour put through it. Sadly my photos don't show the colour too well but it is a dark chestnut with a red tone to it with lowlights of a gold tone under neath. I really love that when I curl it the gold shows through in the curls but it doesn't look streaky when it is straight. I always feel my hair looks awkward at this length as most my layers are sat on my shoulders but loving having it freshly cut and a new colour. Plain natural brown can make the Winter months feel even more dull when looking in the mirror. Looking forward to getting colour into my skin during the Spring/Summer sunshine, a light tan might make me feel more alive.

Apologies for my crazed poses and tired face here, I've been ill all week really and so not used much make up.

Autumn Brunette Auburn

Recently I got my hair cut, I don't do this frequently (once or twice a year, embarrassing to admit). I wanted to have something cute to compliment my heart shaped face, straight and long with no layers does little justice to such a full face.

This is what I wanted and got of course, a full fringe with layers and feathering around the face. Apologies about the poor picture quality. Usually I struggle to find a cut that works with my very fine hair and basic brown hair colour. I was tempted to get highlights put in but it wasn't within my budget and I think a stylish cut can do plenty. 

So I was looking into some playful styles I could do with this type of cut. 

1. My idol Zooey Deschanel is hilarious and has gorgeous hair! I think with a little volumiser and some imagination I could pull off her hair style.

2. Lea Michele's Bangs & Updo is so elegant and classy. I love how it works with her face-shape.

I hadn't realised how versatile having a fringe/bangs and classic brunette hair could be but there are some lovely glamorous ladies out there that rock this look so I'm going to try and be more adventurous with it too.
