BEAUTY// BE HAPPY & LUSH STASH

Finished a unit at University this week with my hand in deadline over with yesterday it was time to try and relax, enjoy not stressing out. Treated myself to a pair of wooly socks and a few LUSH products for a little relaxation.

At LUSH they seem to have a great selection of Christmas seasonal bath bombs but I went for the Butterbear bath bomb, it has a delightfully sweet scent and after dispersing it left a slightly oily film on the top of the water which seems to moisturise your skin as you soak in the tub.

9 to 5 is a cleansing lotion I always seem to go back to even after trying new products, my skin definitely needs it after stressful weeks of work. This cleanser has a fairly long use by date which is great for me since I am known to switch up my routine a fair bit.

So for now it feels good to have a little time to write on the blog and chill out before starting some more projects.

BEAUTY // LUSH MAY DAY

One of the products I bought whilst at the LUSH event recently was this bath ballistic, May Day. It is designed to look like a little badger face (as much as a bath ballistic can) and the idea is that the proceeds (minus VAT) go to projects protecting badgers from culls. I am not a big activist but this cause seems worthy, it is sad that they are blamed completely for something beyond their control. The fragrance is a strong and like liquorice, I loved the sweetness of it and it filled the bathroom when I dropped it into the running water. When it has dispersed there was a cute little note, 'keep those badgers alive' a lovely reminder of how you've helped the cause in a small way.

This is a new favourite of mine, if you get a chance you should bag yourself one, though I hear they are selling out quickly! To find out more about the cause click - SAVE THE BADGERS

BEAUTY // LUSH NORWICH VIP BLOGGERS EVENT

LUSH Norwich opened their doors yesterday for the beauty bloggers of nearby, celebrating the new LUSH Kitchen fresh cosmetics. This was the first blogger event I'd been to but it was wonderful, there was an atmosphere of pure joy for all the beautiful smelling products. The delightfully friendly staff were so helpful, showing us bath bombs in bowls and mixing cocktails of bubble bars, it was impossible to resist dipping your hands in.

I'm a huge fan of the bath ballistics, especially the ones with glitter and strong sweet scents, turning the water bright colours. I was drawn to the psychodelic whirl of 'Granny Takes A Dip', a new addition to to the bath bombs of LUSH it has a soft citrusy scent and reminds me of rainbows. I also picked up the May Day bath bomb, it is another new product and a brilliant example of LUSH's best efforts to make the world a better place, by supporting the anti-badger culling efforts.

I received a gift bag for being part of the event, including a pot of Dream Cream, the A French Kiss bubble bar, a leaflet on having LUSH parties, one on LUSH SPA hand treatments and their 'Fresh From The Kitchen' catalogue. Their catalogue is full of info on their projects, products and ethos, all so important for knowing where your beauty products come from.

During the event taking an Instagram photo meant you could make your own comforter, though I didn't make mine I watched my friends make theirs it was great fun, if there is another event like it then don't miss out! We were guided step by step on how to make it and once made it was ours to keep.

I'll leave you with some photos of the event itself.

BEAUTY // BATHE LIKE A QUEEN OF DRAGONS

With all the buzz around Game of Thrones recently it seems apt to create a review of a great product I tried recently, the Dragon's Egg by LUSH.

Dragon's Egg is a bath bomb with a sweet and citrus scent, with flecks of colour through the product you wouldn't imagine what lays inside. I dropped it into the hot water and when it had almost diminished completely an egg shape cracked revealing golden glitter and turned the water a warm golden colour. It felt like a Cleopatra level of glamorous, surrounded by glitter and gold. It was refreshing and my skin genuinely felt so soft afterwards.

If you love fruity Spring fragrances with a hint of zest then this is a golden investment.

I will definitely be buying this again, why not treat yourself this Easter? I'm sure Daenerys would appreciate this product too.
