LIFESTYLE// 101 in 1001 update

I've been pretty MIA recently. Well let's be honest for a long while, I kinda felt like I didn't want to blog, blogging seemed to be something that didn't matter and quite tainted by people desperate for free things or promoting the same products. I remembered that I set out on a goal type list, the 101 in 1001 and it reminded me that these goals were making me a more positive and organised person.

Life can be very focused on work, school or whatever pressures daily life throws at you so we sometimes need a nudge to remember to do some actual living. My next handful of posts will be me catching up on posting about some of the points I got up to in my blogging absence.

    CAREER GOAL // FINISH MY DISSERTATION                                                      

I did it, I conquered the beast that is the dissertation. My course is very project based so the word count didn't have to be massive but it is shocking how much research and planning that goes into it. If you're now starting to consider your dissertation I recommend getting started as quick as possible.

I also cleared out plenty of my old work as I am moving soon and it needed doing, seven years in further education studying an artistic practice gathers an epic amount of large scale paper.

    TRAVEL GOAL // VISIT 4 MUSEUMS                                                              

As part of a project I visited the Bridewell Museum Norwich. Looking for inspiration on Norwich history this was the ideal location. Filled with historical apparel and some gorgeous examples of signage it felt like a portal through time (cheesy I know). This is one of the hidden gems in my home city and as a student at the art University it is free entry. The staff are super sweet and helpful, they even offered advice on what to look at for my project.

OOTD // Four Seasons

Today has been such a strange day, the weather was crazy. First we had sunshine, then snow, then rain and snow with sunshine then more sun then rain and so on. Kinda felt like every season in one day. Luckily I am prepared for all of these, kitted out in a skirt with leggings, a warm coat, faux fur collar and some hefty Rocket dog boots. I have a photo of today's outfit but minus the shoes as those boots are not great for the carpet.

Apologies for my miserable face, pretty tired to be honest. It was a busy morning at Uni but fun was had, we are writing manifestos on design at the moment so here are some photos and an example of my work. 

Procrastination Purple

Sooo I have worked super hard today at Uni and this calls for a little break to update you guys on my shenanigans.

Yesterday evening I went to see Django Unchained with J. It was amazing, so funny and the cinematography (real word?) was beautiful. Quinton Tarantino really has a flare (obviously) for these out there crazy young movies for whippersnappers like us folk. Despite a whole lot of violence I found the silly antics to be 3 hours of hilarity. I definitely recommend you go see it if you haven't.

Here's also a preview of some work I've been doing at University. The brief was to create some stationery for a society so I decided on Folklore, creating a Black Letter hand rendered selection. This is just the compliments slip and 2 business cards.

I have a busy week with a deadline on my heels, will try and update with some posts on my adventures.

Autumn Shopping Silver

Now that Autumn is upon us you will notice I have done a good bit of shopping. What I tend to do is when my Student Loan comes through I buy a good Winter coat, some fresh skincare and a few things that will last me all year at University. I also use the wages from my job to go towards these so I can use most of my loan on Uni supplies (already spent over £100 on presentation cases and materials for classes argh!). Thought I'd explain that so you know I don't just go crazy with my SL. 

So I saw this coat in Debenhams Oasis and tried it on, loved it too much not to buy it. It fits like a glove, just such a perfect shape for a shorty like me with a small waist but big hips and chest. The inside is quilted and the outside is a shiny rainproof fabric.

Being a cliché student I went and bought this NUCA hoodie from the Uni shop. I love my University and feel proud to go there. This is in the largest size so I can wear it as a dress top with leggings and shorts, it looks so cute on. 

Another Debenhams purchase, this is from Henry Holland and was in the sale. I am a self-confessed cat lady so this leopard print had me captivated.

Maroon and red seem the colours to brighten and warm up during the Winter, this British Fox canvas bag is from Dorothy Perkins. The thick ribbed tights are from Primark, as are the skinny jeans.

I hope my shopping haul post didn't bore you all!

Fresh Life Autumn Gold

It's official, I'm back at University now. As is custom at the beginning of Uni I felt pretty anxious about new people but this year I had my friends from last year to make me feel at home. Me and my ladies, Jordane & Holly had a pizza and movie night to settle us in. This involved an adventure to Blockbusters to get Easy A & The Hunger Games. 

I figure to ease back into blogging I'd post some photos of recent days! 

We are very mature people. Here is Holly being a definite adult.

As of yesterday I have finished my first of four years at University. I know I have a long journey ahead but it feels good to know I'm on track and not just failing miserably.

Now looking forward to some time off and maybe over time before I head off on holiday to up North at the end of June.

I know it won't be like this forever as in the working world you don't get months of time off but knowing I don't have deadlines or lots of early mornings is going to be nice.

I hope every one is enjoying the slightly improved weather and fellow student readers have an awesome Summer break.

Beauty Box Questions...

Hey lovelies, today I wanted to ask a favour of you :)

Weekend of business

This week has been pretty hectic, with the beginning of a new project as well as an exhibition that had to be assembled and refined it felt super busy. I also had to have a root canal which put a damper on things as I had a little trepidation but it was perfectly fine after all. 

The exhibition was an alphabet, each letter created by each of my class mates. I had the letter 'F', I created a piece out of black card, poking a pin through to create the image of an F surrounded by feathers. It was finalised in a frame and had LED lighting behind it. The exhibition felt like a grand success and goes on until Thursday.

Other than this I spent my usual Friday evening with my boyfriend and we had a great night of chatting and games :)

In other news my nail transfers arrived, super cute little moustaches, when I apply them I will post photos and a review so keep your eyes open.
